Can I do this myself? With no help?

Can I just open the nipple and let it drip while I add fluid?

Or can I open it and pump the clutch and keep an eye on the fluid resevor as I add fluid? Or does air get in the system If I relase clutch and nipple is open?

 

A gravity bleed is fine - just don't let the reservoir run dry.

 

Gravity bleed should get most of the old fluid out?

Suck as much of the old fluid as you can from the reservoir, using a turkey baster, syringe, etc., but leave enough to just cover the drain at the bottom. If the reservoir is dirty, wipe it clean with a paper towel, then fill with new fluid. Get under the car, open the bleeder and the old dirty fluid will start to drain, and you should get out from under the car and watch the reservoir. When it's near the bottom, fill it again with clean fluid, and look under the car to see if that clean fluid is coming out. It should be light and clear, while the old fluid is probably dirty and dark. Tighten the bleeder when it runs clear, but 2-3 reservoir's worth of fluid should do the trick. Total time might be 15 minutes or so.
