Question A/C problem

I sat in my car today and turned my a/c on and it blows cold air but not strong enough. Even when I turn the **** all the way to high speed it still blows slowly.. it does blow cold air but just not enough..

This is my very first problem with this car.. it has about 40k miles on it..

I have never worked on an a/c system before..anyone have an idea of what might be wrong?

if the fan speed doesn't change, issue is the fan (or blower motor, whatever you wanna call it).

^..um that would be incorrect. If you can feel the air coming out then the blower motor works. The motor speed is controlled by the a\c amplifier controller. It's basically a bunch of resistors. As you turn the fan speed dial the resistance changes causing an amperage change to the blower motor giving you different speeds. You will need to most likely change the a\c amplifier control unit. If you want you can also test your blower motor by jumping it and it should blow on full high.
