long crank before start....
So this has happened a couple times recently. My '05 Z which has about 150K on it cranked for several seconds 3 times about 20-30 seconds total before starting. I'm the second owner and I don't believe the fuel filter has ever been changed. That's my first conclusion also I asked a friend of mine who has 15+yrs more than myself as a mechanic and he suggested that it could possibly be a weak oil pressure switch. After it finally started it did run normal.
I'd appreciate any advice as a solution to this problem.
Thanks in advance.

Im guessing a fuel pump issue. regulator prob stuck and when u shut car off for long periods of time all the fuel in the lines drain back to tank. hence the long start up to get fuel back into the lines. This issue happens alot on chrystler vehicles though
This happened to my Z also I mean sometime when I start it in the morning it will crank at least two times and then the third time it will startup fine. My mechanic told me it is the Fuel Pressure Dampers problem and it needs to be replaced. I am not sure not if it is the Fuel Pump or the Fuel Pressure Dampers??? Any suggestions of which part to replaced???
