On the Z does any of the failed sensors mentioned cause the CEL to not illuminate at all? I know on some cars a shorted MAF will do that.

Clearly it doesn't matter what's wrong with the car, the OP is not going to fix it himself, if he was at least going to try, he would have posted this question before dropping it off at a dealership. Why again does everyone keep trying to help?

BTW, did the dealership get the fire put out yet?

At least when someone's car does suddenly blow up; this thread will still be waiting for them when they don't perform a search.

i had problems like this, all the lights were on, wouldnt rev past 2k, none of the cruise control features worked, and all the gauges read like they were dead. after replacing everything found out to be a burned up ecu from a couple of wires shorting out, hope this helps

They had the car all day and can't find the issue. The theory is a bad ground on the ECU.

So, the weather cleared up, the car dried out, and the problem went away?

I'd suggest just not driving when it's going to rain. However, since I lived in the Charleston area for 50+ years, I know that's not a good option.

They mentioned something about a TSP with a issue like mine but I'm going to wait and get the full story today.

They can't find out what is causing the issue. Carmax is sending the car over to Nissan.

Last time my car blew up I changed the battery, turns out I had a bad battery so the car wouldn't turn over.

Nissan is replacing the climate control computer and fixing the tail gate issues I have been having. This is with the heavy gate and it not unlocking properly (everyone has this issue I think). My only question is how does the climate computer cause all the gauges to stop working?

You really shouldn't call a new member retarded. Grow up.

It's "mentally disabled".

there is a white box behind the ac controls, forget the name of it, but it controls the gauges also. i replaced mine hoping that was the problem since i didnt want to spend a bunch of money on a new ecm

I had a similar problem.. Well my car never blew up but nothing was working, rpm, temp, mph ect. Plus the horn beeped when I pushed defrost and the alarm would stay on when when I set it. Happend twice from the time I had it. Then turn off car and it will crank but no start.

Turns out its the rain. Only happend when its wet out. Try to not drive in the rain or just avoid the smallest of puddles.

It could be the alt. I had mine go out and I replaced the battery then the alt and that cured it all. My tach and speedo went nuts and wouldnt rev past 2000 rpms....I thought it was getting ready to blow....I thought it was all kinda of stuff.
