Hello all,
I am looking for some help with my 2004 soft top. Hours of searching here has not helped much. Here is the issue...

Soft top 5th bow will not go up. When I hit the open button the windows drop and the seat moves forward, I hear the 5th bow locking mechanism click open and that is all I get. No movement of the 5th bow.

Now if I manually open the top I can get the reverse procedure to work under power up to the point the 5th bow needs to close. The top returns to the closed position, the rear hard cover closes and that is it. The 5th bow stays open.

I checked the 5th bow motor an the brushes were worn, so I had them replaced. I know nothing about electric motors but the guy that fixed the brushes assured me the motor was working fine.

Could there be a problem with the actuator? Is there a sensor not working properly? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a problem with the actuator.
