Today i was shifting from first gear to second gear, and right after letting off the clutch there was a loud bang noise, and the car will not engage into any gear at all. it made a loud knocking while coasting to a stop, the clutch and shifter still feel completely normal. After putting the car into gear and letting off the clutch there is the loud knocking under the center console. I have come to the conclusion that it is most likely a broken rear axle.i am going to jack it up tomorrow and take a look. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

 

Sounds like your tranny has an internal problem.

 

got to look under the car today, just the drive shaft broken in half
