Leak near transmission... Pics
Can someone tell what this part is? ...now that I look at the pictures closer, it seems that the fluid is coming from higher up, by the driveshaft

About the only thing there is the rear oil seal on the transmission.
It's probably pretty easy to replace the seal after you get the driveshaft off. No major disassembly is required. The SM shows special tools, but you may be able to improvise.
