yeah, well he is using an impact gun. They don't want to strip the threads on the axle.

I noticed Axle nut backed off on Sat and retorqued to 177lbs now they cant get it off. If they did break anything that would be very costly for an axle shaft in addition to the bearing. so no, Im seeking an alternative

No work done to car.


I tried getting the Axle nut off with about 200lb feet of torque, no luck. Any idea what I can do now?

Does it have to be cut off? I looked at the axle where they heated it up in an attempt to remove the nut, for some reason it looks distorted(like it stayed in an expanded state, thus fatter than the inner circuference of the Axle nut).

Suggestions?

Had only the bearing and axle replaced and it's still making noise.. im going nuts. A new bearing was installed on the existing hub. I purchased a used axle for 50 bucks from an auto salvage yard since the axle not was seized.

What the hell could be creaking now? What does a cv joint sound like?
