Default Downshfit problems?

Hello everyone,

i tried looking around the thread and google and found nothing that describes my problem. I have a 2003 , 97000 miles 350z , the last owner said he installed a 6 puck, 3 stage clutch. Myself i am a good downshifter because i use to track with a honda s2000 so im not a manual noob.

When i downshift with the Z at like 3k RPM or 4k RPM , from 3rd to 2nd or 4th to 3rd for example, the car will first feel like its going to stall / shake then it downshift .... on every manual car i have driven before, the downshift is instantaneous no matter what RPM and what gear but this Z always has to freak out and shake , feels like its about to stall then downshift.

I will try to record a video. Time to change transmission oil??

Ok, its not any problems. Its because i have a Stage 3 - 6 puck clutch , downshifts requires MORE gas than usual for the rev match , so i can say that the stage 3 is not really suitable for tracks i find. I would stay with stage 2 or better, street ones.

I'm glad you figured out your problem, but you're probably the 1st person to ever say that a "race"/high performance clutch was no good for racing.
