Default Steering wheel creaking (video)

Hey guys,

Odd sound occured this morning on way to work, to the best of my knowledge no noise is coming from under the hood, just the physical steering column / assembly. It's a plasticish creaking noise that only occurs when the wheel is being brought right and occurs at the same spot... what are your thoughts?

I'm thinking it's just some type of oddity in regards to the put together but I've tried fiddling, adding pressure etc and I cannot get the sound to 'stop' or cease, quiet etc... so I figured perhaps someone else had some imput.

Here's a link to video

Thanks in advance!

I have had this happen from time to time. I live just east of Toronto and I got my Z in March. It did it a few times then but then went away during summer. Now that the temp has dropped off it is starting to do it occasionally.

I just put it on my "everything that makes noise in winter" list lol

Started happening to me ever since I had headers put on the car. Pull the latch that lets you adjust your steering wheel, move it up and down and see if makes the noise.

Adjusted position of the steering wheel with no effect. It appears to be consistent and unaffected by temperature change, which is what is bothering me. Any other suggestions? This weekend I'll be taking some rubber strips and felt etc and patching up some of the other random creaking noises in dash to try and isolate it and eliminate some of these annoyances all together.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks so far.
