Default Steering wheel problem, PLEASE HELP!

I removed my old headers and installd DC headers, then when I went into the cabin so I spin the wheel a little too many turns and something sounded. I started the car today and the airbag light is on and the cruise control does not work. what happened? someone who experienced something similar?
Please HELP!

I suspect you broke your clock spring.

Before working on the headers you disconnected the battery right?

I don't know. I've never done it myself. I had a '99 Dodge Caravan that had the clockspring go out. The symptoms were the cruise control quit working and the check engine light came on. It was a recall item so the dealer installed the clockspring. I also have a 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan and that clockspring was also recalled and replaced by the dealer.

a friend said it was not called clock spring, he said it was called steering angle sensor.
Is this true?
