2003 350z transmission noise
Hey,
Ok so I thought i would give this a shot before I went to a mechanic and fork over all my money. My 2003 350z touring 6-speed has been making some annoying transmission noises. Ive already dropped the tranny before and didnt notice anything wrong except that the throw out bearing was worn out. I replaced the throwout bearing and put in some new tranny fluid and the noise went away for a little but now its worst than ever. Its a constant grinding/squeaking noise that seems to be coming from the tranny. it goes away for the most part when i push in my clutch. And sometimes when i shift into first or reverse i get a different grinding noise when i push down the clutch and put it into gear, i just have to release the clutch put it back in gear and it goes away, if anyone has had similar problems and might have some solutions or diagnosis i would really appreciate the help.

Good question, when I bought my Z accouple months ago (2003 also) I came across the same problem. Apparently there was no formal recall or TSB on the 03 trannys even though Nissan is aware of them being problematic and loud. Everybody has been swaping their trannys with the 009 model (newer) under thier factory powertrain warranty. However powertrain coverage is 5 years/60,000 miles unfortunately, so you might be dishing out the cash if you absolutely can't live with it.. But i agree, definatly annoying as f*ck.
