Default wiring problem

i recently bought a 2003 350z. it had an aftermarket radio in it, the running light set up doesnt work. the lights in the head lights, tail lights, and gauge lights(except the lights for the climate control) do not work. the is a light strip in front of the gauges from the previous owner that is rigged from the ciggerette lighter. i rigged the tail lights to low beam head lights. really all i need to know is how to go about fixing the gauge lights? idk which wire is wgich or i might of already tried to wire them up also.

Check to see if fuses have broken. Then check wiring to see if the PO wired it wrong. Then if that's not it check the relays and control mOdules.

fuses are all good along with relays. i paid someone(audio shop) to hook up the radio so i would hope its hooked up right but i will double check that and make sure. i took it to my mechanic he said it was the whole gauge cluster cause the needles light up but nothing else??? it really does not make sense..
