Default last minute clutch checklist

hey guys. I'm going to be replacing my clutch this weekend I just wanted to double check and see if there's anything I may need or not thought about. I know I might as well replace the rear main seal while I'm in there, and the kit has the pilot bushing, throw out bearing, alignment tool, and pressure plate and clutch, and I also have a backup flywheel, I just want to be safe and have everything I could possibly need than be stuck without something and have to wait a few days to get it.

also if there's any tips or tricks to make it easier to replace it would be much appreciated.

thanks.

I wouldn't mess with the rear main seal unless it's leaking.

If you're not draining/changing the transmission fluid, get one of these to keep from losing fluid from the back of the transmission after you remove the driveshaft:

Also, make sure you remove the crankshaft position sensor from the transmission prior to removing it. Be careful not to drop it and keep it in a safe place. Reinstall it after the transmission is back in.

I assume you've changed a clutch before?

Another thing to get is some metric swivel sockets if you don't have any. I bought a set of them at Harbor Freight, and along with a mile of extensions and my 1/2" impact, I made short work of the job.

I have a swivel adapter and the shop my brother works at has air tools, the main thing though is that even in the mustang there was no room to get an impact gun in there. if only we had a lift at our disposal
