Default PO300 misfire / car shaking

Hello forum. Last night I was testing my clutch on my street by having my Z roll at 30mph and putting it in 6th gear and gasing it (was told if the RPM rise quick then the clutch is slipping) as I did this I floored it and within 2 seconds my car started shaking very hard and my exaust sounded very bad. I put it in regular gear and drove to my driveway where my car still would shake when gased and idled very badly with a lot of shaking, smelling and a very little amount of smoke come out from my engine bay.

I coded it and it is a PO300 but I'm confused to what went wrong since everything was working just fine on my 35 minute drive home.

I had just filled up my tank at chevrom (premium of course) and it happened on the way home. My friend was telling me it could be bad gas, but I have looked up the issue on these forums and found that it can be an array of things, sparkplugs (which are all pretty new) fuel injectors, MAF sensor, coil packs etc. I smell a bit of unburned gasoline at times when i have it at idle.

Any info would be much help! I will probably end up taking it to a repair shop if I cant figure this out soon! Its my DD and I cant take days off.

By the way its a 2006 350Z with 55k miles.

Thank you
Anthony

sounds like when i had a bad coil pack. also had the same code, po300. it doesn't always provide a code for a specific cylinder unfortunately.

- Check for air leaks.

- Check your MAF sensor. Either try cleaning it with MAF cleaner, or buy a new one. The sensor is easily accessible and is held in by 2 screws and a harness on your intake pipe.

- You may have a bad coil pack or spark plug. More times than not it will give you a specific cylinder rather than a random misfire, but it still happens.

That's normal to your situation. If you keep driving, that unburnt fuel is going to burn up and ruin your catalytic converters.

You could have fouled a plug by lugging the engine like you were. Pull them and check, not a difficult procedure on these cars.
