Thanks zakmartin.....I will look into this as well. I have checked it before...but I will check all things possible. I'm tired of this happening....it has been going on for a while now.....UGH !

And Thanks Mint Racer, I have done that ECU reflash before a few years ago...didn't really seem to solve anything.

JaE35z, I experience the same thing with mine....once the car is off for a while or over-night it seems to self fix.....meaning it resorts to normal until a certain amount of time and then it will start happening again. You just need to drive it. Mine happened after it got warmed up....you said yours was at colder starts or when engine was cold.....I think it will come back and happen again.

I just cleaned my MAF, Throttle body, and changed the plugs last night....haven't had time to put it back together and start it, but after I get home tonight I will see how she runs.....I'll keep you guys updated.

Here are some pics of my plugs that I just took out....they seem to be pretty Normal looking for the amount of mileage & usage they went thru.

Being that I Track & AutoX....they aren't in that bad of shape....plus very little oil if any in the plug chambers. I think I was lucky and had no issues with the Valvecovers leaking.

There was only one thing that bugged me when I was changing them out....I had only one Coil pack pulled apart from the plug and upper square unit. It seemed like it just went back together...but I was unsure since all the others came out intact.

Anybody see something weird or out of the ordinary...please chime in.

Also....here is a vid of the Z after I cleaned everything out....I cleaned the MAF, Throttle body, and replaced the plugs. I had a MAF code on my OBD II after I started it up...but I drove around, warmed up the engine....and then did a ECU reflash. It cleared everything and no CEL is on now....Z sounds like normal and has it's Pep back in her again. I Drove around for about 20-30 mins before I reflashed the ECU. I also have a OBD II, but didn't use it to clear the code...I reflashed instead.

I hope this solves my problem...but only time will tell. It wouldn't surprise me to see it come back in the summer when it gets hot & humid.

Here is the vid......

If you can find a scope with an inductive attachment, I'd do a reading on the coil pack that fell apart and compare it to a known good coil pack. You can also do a comparative compression test to make sure you're getting the same spark wave pattern from each of the cylinders. I'd loan you mine if you were in Seattle

Cam/ Crank Sensors?
Compression test?
Coilpack test?
Intake Relearn?

What says the SES scanner when it comes to codes?

Good luck man, my old Altima had the same symptoms, it ended up being a bad PCV valve letting oil into the intake manifold which I guessed then led to the 80 psi of compression to 1 piston.

Gotta be your throttle body, I didn't remember but had you tried swapping it out?

I have the same problem but mine starts normally on a cold start but after driving it for a good while and while the engine is hot and I start it up it stalls unless I press the gas pedal then will it go to a normal idle. My knock sensor is bad I know that from checking the code but im not sure if that causes the problem any help?
