Default How many years can transmission fluid sit in the car??

I have an 08 with only 22k. Previous owner only drove on weekends.

Right now its 2013. Shifts fine, a little notchy when cold in the winter when warming up so I super careful. That just normal for MT cars ya know.

It would be early mileage wise but what about the length years the tranny fluid has been in the car?

Should the fluid be changed due to the length of years vs mileage?

Haha... your thread actually got me thinking and that's why I posted!

Just wondering what the scoop is on sitting fluid.

You're fine. My car is an 08 as well with 37k and this was the first time I changed the fluid. I had no issues before. Now if your Z was a 03 maybe it would be a different story but the car is only a few years old.

Quote that I should have listened to, "don't fix anything that is not broken"

When I read the term FLUID,I think AT.
With those miles, you are fine unless the previous owner really
ran the car.The tranny lube/oil should be just fine.
It normal in the winter for the car to warm up before shifts get
smooth.
