Monitoring steering angle sensor with Consult
Hi guys, I'm a little stumpped right now. My steering angle sensor died on me, and every time I started the engine the VDC OFF and SLIP lights come on.
So I got the steering angle sensor replaced, steering angle reset performed. Now when I make a soft sweeping right turn at above 80 KM/h or when I try to U-turn right (RHD model) VDC kicks in and grabs my front left brake.
1. I have a standard trim JDM 2005 - which means Brembo, 18's, VDC
2. My wheels are stock
3. rear tyres are newer than fronts - so the rears are still larger in diameter
4. Consult does not see errors with Yaw-sensor, steering angle sensor or wheel speed sensors
5. No DTC logged
6. brake fluid level is ok
7. brake rotors and discs are ok (changed last year)
8. wheel alignment performed before steering angle reset procedure
The curious thing is that when I use Consult and go into "data monitor" - "steering wheel sig", all I see is a static 0 degrees. This value does not change if I turn the steering wheel (engine on or off).
My question is, is there anyone here familiar with Consult? Is this value supposed to update in real time when I am in data monitor mode?
I would like to track this down and get it fixed, I have disconnected the yaw sensor for the mean while, but monsoon season is coming up and I would like VDC back in action.
Cheers!
