Default Left turn signal speed x2?

Hopped in the Z a few min ago to go get my daily redbull and when I went to use my left turn signal it was wwwaaayyyy fast. It probably goes on/off 5 times in a second whereas the right is normal speed,

I have no clue as to what this could be since it started out of nowhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Damn, 5 points to Syner for the lightening quick response.

That is what it is, at least it's a cheap fix. Thank you!

When a turn signal blinks more rapidly than it's supposed to, it usually means that a bulb has burned out and needs to be replaced. Once the bulb has been replaced the signal speed will go back to normal.

Cheap/easy fix if its the front turn signal...not so cheap/easy if its the rear because you have to remove the bumper. GL

How it was explained to me, the module that controls the signals will blink the dash indicator light twice as fast when it does not sense the electrical resistance of the bulb (ie when the circuit is open due to no bulb filament to close the circuit)

easy fix, you might as well change both the left and the right sides, bulbs come in 2-packs…and if you feel extra motivated change the rear turn signals too.

Not true^^^ all you do for rear is pull the tail light and cram your arm down the hole ; ) It's a tight squeeze, but I did it.

That's what I thought. But I've never done it, so I didn't want to dispute the other response.

I changed my egg yoke colored bulbs for white all around. Fronts are way harder to get to...maybe thats what he meant?
There's a DIY on here somewhere. ....... I think.....if not, I just wrote it in my last post

Well speaking in general..light bulbs are a PITA to change on a Z I've found out.

Big FAIL on nissan for the design flaw.

Thanks for the correction on the rear turn signal's NoQuestionZ.

It isn't just the cars from 1990 and newer. Turn signals became standard on cars during the 1950's and they have always blinked faster when a bulb is burned out. Even earlier when direction indicators were options, they still behaved the same way. We can go back a little further and talk about trafficators if you want.

My sister's first car was a 90 Mitsubishi Gallant. My step dad told her to watch if it burned oil and to keep an eye on her turn signal fluid.

She watched the engine to see if it burnt in front of her. And searched the engin bay for the fluid reservoir

I dont if we have different dads or what because at 14 I changed the alternater on that car. Hahaha

I thought the fronts were pretty easy ... even with the headlights in place…if you understand how the rotate-lock works then it's cake if you have small/smaller hands...

Thank god, I didn't want to spend a good part of my day tearing my bumper off just to get to a bulb when I had other plans.

Thanks to everyone that helped, learned a couple new things today

Smaller hands I do not have

Yoda speak son.

That's why in my previous post I said "Cram" my hand down.

OP, the rear bumper isnt that hard to take off anyway... unless you have done a bumper tuck - haha. Glad we could help!

PS, side note, I'm from iowa as well...I've been in SoCal for the past 7 years...now I'm back in Waterloo. I might even be in Pella this weekend! Lulz

Damn noquestionz, Ill be around saturday until about noon, going to go see the parents down in Missouri. Lmk if your around before that if you wanna cruise, not many z's here at all.

I did get around to that turn signal bulb today. It took all of 2 minutes reaching down through the tail light hole after it was removed. Definitely an easy fix!
