Default Urgent help needed for 35th Anniversary 350z

About 4 months ago I purchased A 6 speed, black, 35th anniversary 350z in Arizona. The car had around 121,000 miles, and about 122900 by the time I got it back to Virginia where I live.

It hasn't given me much trouble though when I got it checked up in VA at a shop, they did tell me it burns oil. I've run a couple cars this way and I've handled them just fine. I'd check the oil levels every fill up and add when needed.

Though today, I've met my first enormous problem. My car starts, and the RPM's jump to 2k like normal, then 3 seconds into it, the RPM needle starts to drop and it is audible that the engine is also dying. It gets to around 100-0 RPM's after running for 20 seconds, then dies. I can sometimes feather the engine and get some acceleration, but half the time the acceleration pedal wont even communicate with the engine it seems. I tried putting in 2 gallons of gas to see if fuel starvation was the issue, and it still wouldn't go. Checked the oil and it was fine as well. Please someone help me. Thank you

Looks like you have crane/cam sensor issue. It very comon for our Z, especially that many miles.

Your problem has been covered many times.More than likely its a cam position
sensor. It will start like what you are experiencing. You'll eventually get a CEL.
If you do get them(there are 2)replaced,I highly recommend replacing
with OEM parts.Last I checked, the sensors ran about 100 bucks each. The one on
the passenger side is fairly easy to get to.The other side, not as much.Good to remove the intake.

I agree with bsting. My girlfriends 1990 300zx is having a similar idle problem, although not as bad. We're narrowing it down to a sensor issue or some of the vacuum hoses that aren't OEM.
