Default Window problem

I bought my 03 a few months ago and the windows worked fine when I got it. The previous owner had already replaced the passenger side motor. After a few weeks, both windows stopped dropping the few millimeters when the doors are opened. I pulled both doors apart and re-set the motors. That didn't fix the problem. I asked at the dealer and they had never seen this problem. Now, the windows sometimes drop and sometimes don't. About every 4th or 5th time I open the passenger side door, the window drops about an inch and won't close again by itself. I have checked the boots on the door jam switches and they are not causing the switches to stick. Both windows work fine with the manual and auto up and down switches and I never get the issue of the windows dropping half way when I shut the car off. Does anyone have any idea what might be going on and what I can do to fix it? It's pretty annoying. I will try resetting the passenger side motor again to see if that helps with the 1 inch drop problem.

Check the window motors and see if the previous owner actually changed them. The part number is different, or he could have never changed them or bought remanufactured ones.

I'd say it's either a switch issue or window motor going bad. Mine would do the same thing and my motor was shot.. mind you my z only had 30k miles

I'll check that out. He said he only changed the one side. I thought it was odd that both sides quit dropping on the same day though. Almost seems like a computer issue of some sort but I don't know what actually controls that drop. Anyone know what actually controls it?

I think they are controlled by relays. There are no fuses I've checked lol
