Default Help with my broken Z:(

So I was driving my Z around today and driving normal for the most part.. I pulled out hard from a stop sign with vdc off and slid alittle which ill do every so often and got to my driveway which is about 200 ft down the road and my service engine light comes on.
I make it half way up the driveway and my car starts revving without me hitting the gas and the idle becomes really bad, then it dies... I start it again and it revs and when i hit the gas it just shuts off..I had to push it in my garage where it sits now....
Ive never experienced this before and have heard it maybe a sensor but Im thinking it could be something else, although I have no idea. I have an hks exhaust, pop charger, and plenum spacer installed with no tune.. Any help or ideas before I take it to the dealership would be appreciated.. This is my baby

Do you have Access to a Code reader? I don't know if auto parts stores in your area "rent" them out. That will be the best/fastest route to fix her up. Good luck, keep us posted.

You probably tripped the DDD, otherwise known as the Douchebag Driving Detector.

1: Dont trip the DDD
2: Go rent a obd reader

Correct me if I am wrong, but isnt a tune needed when adding a P-spacer?

Pop charger and spacer can run without a tune.

Pop charger and spacer combined with the exhaust could be running a little lean, and would likely need a tune.

Baloney. I have pop charger, spacer, headers, hi-flow cats and have never had a tune in over 100,000 miles, and that combo would not cause the immediate problem of the OP anyway. My TB failed under the exact same conditions, jumping on the freeway, and car went into limp mode. As said, he needs to get the code read if he can get a reader to the car, since the car obviously can't get to the reader.
As far as the DDD nonsense, if you have never driven your car like that, at least once or twice, why in the he!* did you buy a Z to begin with?

lol at the DDD.. thanks for the input guys. I have a friend with an OBD2 reader and I'm gonna try to do that within the next couple days. I checked my intake piping and one of the clamps broke which pretty much suggests a vacuum leak to me. The clamps are plastic and cheap and I think when the engine was moving it may have cracked a piece of the piping above the sensor which made it go into this limp mode. I live in the country and the road is very open so thats why I like to have a little fun at that stop sign every once in awhile.. Didnt mean to offend anyone. Thanks for helping everyone, Ill try to update soon.

Yes, it would be DDD if on my suburban street, not so much at my buddies who has a stop sign 100 feet from his house and not another house within sight. LMAO at the Dugan ref though - I'm honored.

I was replying to go7roo7's question, not the OP.

I said it could run a little lean with those mods (I didn't say it would run lean). And if that were the case, a car would likely need a tune

Got the codes read today with a universal code reader.. It came up with 4 codes and they were all P1122 which just said air and fuel mixture.. I tightened everything up on my intake pipe and we took out the MAF sensor and sprayed it with some cleaner. We reset the battery and started it up and erased the codes but the car still did the same thing and the codes kept coming back.. The car still back fires alot and makes loud popping noises when idling. I am thinking the my MAF sensor is bad and am going to price them tomorrow and probably just buy a new one.. Ill keep this updated

My car only has 40,000 miles on it and its a 2004. Do the mass air flow sensors just go bad at random? Ive heard of them going bad just like anything else but its hard to believe. Does anyone else think that would be the problem. My buddy who knows more about cars than me says he's 98% sure its the MAF sensor lol.

I called the dealership today.. They want about $255 for a MAF sensor.. I have been looking online for them and found one for $60 but that seems too cheap lol. Does anyone know anything about the Jet power-flow sensors.. They seem to get good reviews and are about $130. Im not sure which one to buy and cant find anything on here about them.. I really dont wanna drop $250 on one at the dealership..
