Default Diff Leak??

I have found a substance that smells like diff fluid emanating from somewhere around the driver side rear. Suspension parts, inside of wheel and parts of subframe are covered. The diff and axles however are bone dry. I discovered this after a track day which consisted of mostly right hand turns. Smells exactly like diff fluid but could it be a fluid from inside the strut or anywhere else? after spending 30 minutes under the car looking for the source I'm puzzled.

Our cars have a differential breather at the top of the unit. Check to see that the hose is in place. A long, hot, track day will heat the fluid to a point that it will start to come out the vent. A longer higher positioned hose will help. Also a finned rear diff cover, or even a cooler for extreme track work.

Thanks for pointing me in the right dierection. I found the fitting on the top with a tube leading to another fitting that is connected to the subframe on the driver side which is exactly where my leak was. So it looks like the diff fluid gets blown in to the subframe when venting and leaks out of anything that is connected to it. Thanks again!
