Anyone know if the OEM coolant/antifreeze is silicate free? When what commercial brand avaliable is suitable replacement? OEM coolant is Green, so as my bottle of Prestone(but it contains silicate)?

 

Yes it is. I have been told not to use Prestone (due to silicates) or the Dexron (sp) because of crystallization problems (GM is dropping them).

Recommended brands are:
Nissan (Green)
Toyota (Red)
Honda (Blue)

Pick a color...any color.

 

Mix with distilled water too of course or you'll have problems.

 

Thanks, now i sure am glad i didn't pour in some Prestones i had sitting around. Wonder how much Nissan Coolants will cost at the dealership
