Default P0345 - super confused

not sure if this is the right section, but i've looked all over the internet for this, and nothing exactly helped me..

so i got the service engine light on , on my 2005 350z, the code that popped up was P0345, and then it said camshaft position sensor A bank 2

the guy at autozone ran it on the computer, and two things popped up, Bank 1 and Bank 2, it said that there is either no electrical connection or that theres low battery power, the battery is at like 60-75%, then he said that it could be the alternator, we checked that, it was working perfectly fine, and now im confused..

do i have to replace my camshaft position sensors? or what do i do?

and the thing with that, is for the one on the passenger side, i have no idea how to take it out, im not very mechanically inclined, and i un-screwed the first bolt, thats visible, but it wouldnt come out, it twisted in place, is there another bolt somewhre in there that i have to get? or what? and for the drivers side, do i really have to take off the throttle body, and intake?..

like i've stated before, i am not very mechanically inclined, but i can replace parts like this on my car, so can somebody please tell me what do do and how to do it.. thank you in advance

oh, another note.. the car can randomly shut off, when driving in neutral, and once it shut off while in gear, so that kind of scares me.

Are there any 350Z owners near you who could give you a hand and guide you through the process if you don't wish to take it to a garage. Failing that, if you search, I'm sure there is a link on how to go about replacing these sensors. One thing i would do if you replace them is use OEM as there are reports of guys having problems when fitting pattern parts.

Here's a diagram:

It looks like it's just held in by a single screw. I read that they are not the easiest part to access but it's certainly do-able.

P0340 is Bank 1 and P0345 is Bank 2. I'd just start off by replacing Bank 2 or if you want since the scanner picked up a DTC for Bank 1 you can replace it as well since you're already replacing Bank 2.

This was taken from user "jgruberman" on an older thread.

"To get to bank 2(driver side), you can either:
A: Unhook the air intake and remove from the car, and reach in from that side, or
B: Stand over the driver side of the front of the car and reach around the back of the engine with your left arm(you need to know where you're reaching first and don't do it when the engine is warm)

To get to bank 1(passenger side), you should be able to reach in fairly easily from the passenger side of the vehicle.

Easiest way that I've learned, is get a flathead screwdriver to press down onto the retaining clip, and pull GENTLY on the wires behind the plug. I say this because the wires are flexible and will allow for you to shift your wrist while pulling... and as long as you have the retaining tab depressed properly, it won't apply too much tension on the wires before the plug pops off."

Check Courtesy Nissan for OEM sensors:

I'd call them with your VIN and order over the phone. Hope this helps some!

I was going to say try swapping them, but the 23731M and 23731MA are different. MA goes on the passenger (right) side.
