Default My temp controls went haywire

All the temperature controls have gone crazy ... the heat still works as does the air. However a diagnostic at the dealer indicated 2 computer modules that control these (the brain) are not functioning properly. What parts are these and are they available to purchase somewhere other than the dealership ? Please help .... a $700 + repair was the quote to me .... ouch !!!

You might be able to find the parts numbers from your service counter and get lucky at a junkyard or from a car being parted out.

If I remember correctly, you just need the white ribbon connector and the white box module that's in the center console to get these fixed. If I'm thinking of the right part it's a fairly easy fix. I'm headed back to work right now but I'll check back when I get back and if no one else gives you more info I can send you in the right direction.

I am guessing you paid for the diagnostics so they should have given you the paperwork indicating exactly what needs to be done. With that you can tell us more

The white box connected to the ***** is called the AC Control Amplifier. Prices range from $30-200+, depending on where you source the part.

Thanks for the info .... unfortunately they did not give me any info only the $700 + quote to fix it .. told me there were 2 modules that needed replacement. Thanks for the info ... obviously worth a try (white box & ribbon).

Sorry for the late response, but was it the A/C Control Amplifier and the Body Control Module (BCM)? Those are pricey parts if you can't source them from a junkyard. FYI, there's a little resister that sits about 5 o'clock under the steering column that can wreak havoc with the climate control if it's busted or disconnected. It's located behind a very small vent opening on the interior trim plate under the steering column..
