WINDOW REPAIR Please Help
Hello,
I currently have a 2004 convertible and I am having some window issues.
The driver side window seems to work fine when I initially turn on my car, but then the window gets stuck and will neither roll up or down. Unless I apply some pressure on the window, which seems to activate it temporarily.
I took my door apart and and greased the sides, hoping this would fix the problem, which it did not.
My question is do I need a new motor? And if so any suggestions about where I should order it.
Thanks!

Please read that thread and try all the suggestions. It sounds like you need a new motor or at least a clean one.

Chances are you'll need a new motor as they don't last anywhere near as long as the motors fitted to the S14. Mine started off by not moving at all and even when I moved the switch there was nothing, not so much as a click. Then a couple of days later it would decide to work for a couple of hours and then fail again. Sometimes it went all the way down, sometimes it only went halfway down. Some people claim that cleaning the brushes of the motor cures the problem, I tried this and had success for about two months before it failed again. Just get yourself a new motor and save yourself the ballache.
