Do you have crepe myrtles in your yard? I've had my paint look like that after their blooms landed on the car and sat for a while. A wash and wax took care of it.

Hey so Ive done a few wash and wax since I noticed this and nothing has changed. I do have a in ground sprinkler system, do you really think this can be the cause? and how much do you think polishing will help? it really seems like the clear coat is lifting from under so i feel like polishing wont do anything.

In ground sprinkler systems cause lots of paint problems. You should take you car to a detail shop and let them take a look at it. I suspect they can get the paint perfect again.

You could also buy a dual action buffer and some good quality polish and try to remove the spots. Waxing will not get them out. Wax does not correct or make the paint shiny. Wax only protects the shine you have established using a good quality polish. You can buy the equipment for about $250.00 and that is less than a detail shop will charge you.

Yea I can tell that its most likely a clear coat fail. I just dont understand how it can fail in 2 to 3 days and appear on every single panel. I spoke to the auto body shop and they said they've never seen something like this too in such a short period of time. They also said that repainting the whole car might not be worth it since its going to cost around 2k to 3k. Thats why i really want to find out if something beside the sun could have caused this so my insurance company can pay for it.

So got off the phone with geico AGAIN.. They told me to go to 2 or 3 different auto body shops and get a written statement that states that this was not a sun damage alone. This is such BS!!! I went to one auto body shop and they told me that they dont even know what exactly caused the damage but there very sure that sun damage cannot appear like this in a matter of days. How is it that the professional auto body people can't even tell what happened but yet geico can assure me that this was caused by natural sun damage. Beyond frustrated, shouldve never switched from USAA to Geico.

If you expect Geico to repaint your car, you need to do what they have asked. Going to three body shops and asking for a written opinion is not a BS request. I have suggested that you take your car to a reputable detail shop and see what they can do for your car. For some reason, you seem to think that is a waste of time. You keep asking for advice but seem to reject all ideas.
