replace stock clutch or go for upgrade? clutch is going need help
Hello quick question
need a new clutch soon....
went to a 350z specialist and they said either they put a new stock clutch on or put a higher end one ( I presume stage 1 or 2) for the little bit extra $$.... should I go with the more expensive one because its going to hold better and last longer right?

I had to replace the clutch in my 350z a couple months ago, after a little research the OEM Clutch was more expensive than a Aftermarket one.
I went with the JWT Clutch/Flywheel combo, is a little bit noisy, the pedal feels firmer, but the clutch feels strong and is easy to engage the gears.

So my clutch is hardly doing its job anymore.. Im a college student that doesnt have much money either. After looking around someonemx is absolutely right, the JWT clutch and flywheel package is the best bang for your buck!
My only hesitation is that my transmission is crapping out too, My 5th gear grinds on occasion and its difficult to engage reverse time to time...
---------^^^^I doubt the clutch will help the grinding but hope it helps with the reverse situation..
Anyone know if its bad to throw in a new clutch/flywheel in a bad transmission??
Sorry to edit my topic there... the stock one they offered were a Exedy(?) stock clutch kit with some aftermarket flywheel.... might as well do both at the same time they said....
they also said its not worth going for the more expensive one unless Im going to be throwing down alot of power, I wont need it.. so Im going to go with the Exedy one

You can either get your syncros fixed... still quite expensive or opt out for the new tranny i think its model is _ _ _ 009? the only cheap thing you can really do is try a tranny flush... that might reduce problem but only temporarily... I created a form about it because I can tell my 2nd gear syncro is starting to show slight wear on cold days. Your better off going for the clutch kit and then try saving up for the new Tranny which is about $2000 or see if someone can redo the syncro, if you do the one might as well do the others if they have to open up the tranny. Hope this helps 

------So now I'm curious what the thickness of the clutch should be since theirs space between the disk and the rivets.
