Default rust spot.

okay so I got a rust spot that's getting wrost slowly. so far its about a 1/4 of a centimeter so very small, my co worker suggested I just use some grey nail polish to fix this, but I don't want it to rust more after I cover it up. what would u do to repair small rust spots home boy.

You could take the car to a body shop or buy some touch up paint and do the job yourself. It appears you have allowed a chip in the paint to get worse and worse. Here is a good place to get touch up paint. http://www.drcolorchip.com/

This chip has gone through the paint layers, the primer, the metal prep, and even the manufactures phosphate steel treatment. The result is all this surface rust that is busy eating away your car. Stop at a good specialty auto supply store and pick up a small bottle of Rust Neutralizer. sometimes called Rust Converter. Brush away any loose rust and apply the Neutralizer, most of them have a watery consistency and are easy to flush into the chip. This converts the iron oxide in the rust to a very effective paint primer; it will even sink into the metal even under the paint at the boundary of the chip and stop any further growth of rust.

Now get a bit of touch up paint to match the paint code listed on a tag on the Z’s firewall. You can get some at a Nissan dealer, or some excellent chip touch up systems on line. Use the search function here to see discussions on the merits of each of them.
