Hi all,

this is the second of two issues that the wife has brought to me this week and I am in turn checking here.
My wifes drivers door window goes all the way up but then after it hits the soft top comes back down about six inches.
I have read that there is a limit reset switch inside the door panel and was wondering if this may be the problem of is the motor on its way out and needs replacing?
As usual, any input will be gratefully received.

Just do the reset procedure, that's probably all there is to it. Careful taking the clips off they brake easily, at least for me.

 

That's all it is. Reset the travel on the motor and you'll be fine. It rolling back down is the anti pinch feature. If you stick your hand in the window and do the auto close it will hit your hand, then roll back down like it's doing now.

many thanks to you and pr 350z for the advice. It finally hit me once I had read your post that In having a new roof Installed last year It is obviously a tad lower than the original and this has been doing this for about the same time. So, I guess that's it. I'll remove the door panel and reset the switch.
