Default Tail lights don't work

My tail light fuse blows in 5 minutes. brake lights, headlights, and directionals work. The fuse blew once and I replaced it but 2 weeks later it blew again and now it only lasts about 5 minutes when I turn the tail lights on. I'm planning on seeing a mechanic but I just want a general idea of what's going on in case I can fix it myself to save money. I've replaced many things on my Z on my own, just not too experienced in the electrical part. It's a 2003

Electrical can be tricky. Check out page 194 of the LT section in the FSM for troubleshooting and wiring schematics. Or page 4 in the PG section.

OEM tail lights and not cheap aftermarket lights or bulbs?

Sounds like a short, or a shaky ground wire. Check the course of your taillight wiring for proper grounding back there as well as any worn insulation that will expose the wiring to bare metal. Check the connectors for proper fitting too.
