Wheel Not Straight After New Clock Spring
Hello all,
I have a 2008 Enthusiast 350z that had the stereo controls on the wheel go out on it a while back. I finally got sick of it and ordered a new clock spring for it. I installed it and everything functioned fun except that my steering wheel is no longer pointing straight when my car is going straight. Its not off by a lot but its definitely enough to annoy me. I know for sure I aligned the notch on the steering wheel to the notch on the steering column. The only idea I have is when I loosened the nut holding the steering wheel on I turned the wheel to lock it. I am wondering if somehow it lost it's zero when I did this. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Since the clock spring is indexed, there's really no way to screw up the installation outside of having it wound off-center when you do the install. Don't lock your steering wheel before you pull it off; just drive straight into the flat area where you want to do the work, pull the wheel and re-insert it centered with the clock spring keyed to the hole on the wheel at 12 o'clock. Like Travis said, if that doesn't work, your alignment is off.
