Help!!!
Okay so I'm in a rough situation. I was doing my spark plugs over the weekend and I figured that the spark plugs were 5/8 Because most cars are but they are smaller. So when I put the 5/8 socket down in the hole and tried to turn it, it got significantly tight and now I can't get the socket out of the spark plug hole. I've tried locking extensions, the bread trick, heating up the spark plug tube to get it to expand, and just grabbing it with a pair of needle noses and the socket won't budge. I need ideas on how to get this socket out before I take the whole head off and just replace the tube. Any info helps.

Thats odd, ive never had that issue, im pretty positive its a 5/8 socket, did you use an 1/2 inch impact socket or something other than the standard 3/8ths spark plug socket?
Anyway before you go crazy with trying to remove the head which won't really work out for you it their is a socket stuck in your valve cover...
I would try glueing an extension into the socket.. (I would use a 2 part epoxy) then with your newly found leverage wiggle and pull and hope for the best.

Have you tried turning it the opposite direction while going in an upwards position? That might break the socket loose. It sound odd, my first guess why it happened was maybe the spark plug was not properly in the threads and was forced to turn causing in to be angled weird as it stripped itself. Hope that wasn't the case.
Is it because the rubber insert inside the spark plug socket is holding onto the spark plug so tight that you can't get it off, or is the socket itself wedged against the inside wall of the spark plug tube itself because the outside diameter of the socket is too wide?...
Just put a little motor oil between the socket and the tube and try turning it counter clockwise with slight upward movement. No more than a teaspoon.
