Default Considering cancelling extended warranty

I couldn't find another place that discussed warranties, so I figured this was the place that had the most pertinent experience, although it is recent.
I bought an extended warranty (7yr Security+Plus) when I bought my '04 Z, and I am now considering cancelling it after reading the forums and finding the dealer crossthreaded a bolt on the first oil change. I realize this is a minor thing, but it made me wonder what other incompetencies they had that would crop up later.
Are there any owners of older Z's that had experience with extended warranties that could help me decide if I should use the refunded warranty money in a better way?

I bought my Z in November 2002 at Dirito Bros in Walnut Creek. I chose them because they didn't have an add-on price markup. At the time the dealer did not have many details about the Z, and mechanics didn't seem to have specific additional training on the Z. I could tell that it bothered them that I had learned more details on this forum than they were provided by Nissan.

After 6 months or so the dealer seemed up to speed and has performed good work. The minor problems of clicking seat movement, grease streaks on the windows, passenger window rolling part way down, and occasional problems with the rear hatch not opening on the first try were all fixed promptly with no sign that things had been taken apart. I have seen other Z's in the shop that are getting turbochargers and other mods. The owners are happy with the work.

I now do the minor stuff at home--oil, filter, transmission and differential fluid changes, bleed brakes, replace shoes, etc; but I have confidence in the dealer to properly fix more major problems if they occur.

I think that it is a big leap from one dealer cross-threading a bolt to saying that all Nissan mechanics can't be trusted. I did spend the time getting to know the service manager and mechanics. I also checked out another dealer (Concord Nissan) and found them to be arrogant and rude.

Unless you plan to do modifications which will invalidate the warrantee or sell the car in three years, I would recommend keeping the extended warrantee. There are plenty of costly items that can break or fail between 50K and 100K miles.

I'd keep the warranty, it's protection for you, against any screwup the dealer does. They damage it, they fix it, that's the law in any state. Just keep very good records of all work with reasons for the work. I have a 3 ring notebook that has every paperwork on the Z.

If you cancel it you better do it before 30-60 days. After that it is pro-rated. I learned the hard way, lost $200 cause I waited 6 months.

Didn't even use the dam thing.
