Default Question about sparkplug tube seal

I just replaced my valve covers and found that my passenger valve cover spark plug seal looks "melted" I was just wondering what could caused it and if it is normal wear. The driver side seal looks okayish

They were leaking in the past and the previous owner put RTV on the tube seals and reinstalled it because they were cheap.

Replace both valve covers... And not with the cheap eBay or Rockauto ones. They leak.

Default Valve Covers

I had good luck with Rock Auto valve covers. If you don't have a copy of the FSM ( factory service manual) get one if you plan on doing maintenance on the car. Follow the instructions completely you should have no more problems.
