Default Feathering Problems fixed in 04 Models?

Hey guys,

I am new to the forum, and I just bought an 04 Z Enthusiast last week, and I had a few questions.

1. Has the tire feathering problem been resolved in the 04 model?
2. What are the major symptoms I should look out for to see if my tires are feathering? (Pulling to one side, loud noise etc)

3. Is only the front tires affected?

4. Does this problem happen mainly on the 17 inch tires or the 18 inch tires? (I have seen that this primarily happens w/ the 18 inch tires)

5. Do the G35s have tire feathering problems?

Any advise would be great-

dont know if the gs are affected or not.....you will notice a slight roar when slowing down at a light that will get louder over time....that is the feathering

I have a 2004.5 Track model with 3500 miles and no sign of feathering. The '04.5's definitiely have the new European suspension.

the switch to euro suspension i believe is to eliminate the excessive bounce, not to fix the feathering problems. euro Zs suffer from feathering as well.

Check your VIN. If it is 60,001+ then it is a 2004.5. Cars with these numbers were produced starting in October.

Yes they do except that it shows up later because the have Different tire with higher tread wearing.

G35 have Michellin.

if you search g35 forums you might find a few reports of tire feathering vs. the thousands of reports you'll find on 350z boards.

I don't know about g35 sedan but I know that g35 coupes have an issue. The only thing is that they tend to show up way later than Z because g35 coupes have higher tread wearing time.
