question about front bumper

Default question about front bumper

i got into an accident and there is a metal bar of somesort behind the front bumper right above the grill and was bent. should i and do i need to get that fixed or should i just leave it and just get a new bumper.

That is the steel bumper. I had mine replaced in an accident previously. You definitely should replace it, because it may otherwise affect your car's ability to withstand another impact to the front of the car. Plus, it may be resting somewhat close to the front airbag sensor, and you don't want that going off on 'ya!

Hmm... I forgot exactly. I filed on the person who's fault it was's insurance so I dont' remember all the details. The metal mounts that connect the bumper to the chassey (?sp) may also be damaged because I believe they are supposed to compact in a frontal accident to lessen the impact to the rest of the car. I believe it was like $2200 for the entire front end damage to the car, but a lot of that came from a HID headlight that had a crack in the bottom that needed to be replaced. If I remember to look, I have all the information at home somewhere and I'll post prices.
