Rear bumper replacement suggestions...
someone dinged my rear bumper and there is a small gap where the plastic meets the parking light. there is also a slight "bump" in the plastic that is noticeable. any suggestions on how to fix this? one shop i brought it to recommended doing nothing, with the alternative of removing the bumper, reshaping it, repainting it and also repainting the trunk/spoiler and part of the quarter panels to make sure all the paint matches. seems a bit extreme for just a slight deformation of the rear bumper...i'm sure i'm not the first Z owner to have some idiot hit the rear bumper. any suggestions would be welcome..thx.

I'd say you'd have a 50/50 chance of a repainted and repaired bumper looking as good as new. If you can live with it, leave it, if not, might I suggest taking off the bumper and trying DIY cures, like a heat gun (set on low) to shape out the bump and maybe you can see if the rear reverse light can be adjusted so it's flush.
I know my rear reverse lights have like a 1 mm gap between them and the bumper - drives me crazy. I'm going to eventually try to adjust it - crappy build quality.
Good luck!

outlaw, I did get my bumper fixed, but it was a little diff. then yours, i had a deep scratch into the plastic, and a ding in the quater panel. The plastic in the bumper was repaired, the ding was repaired and the whole bumper and quater panel was repainted cost 600 ......burnside ave garage, inwood ny
