Exclamation Potenza RE040 in short supply in SoCal???

Gentlemen, I'm up for repalcement of my OEM tire sets. I just passed 41K...respectable performance, however, the front 225s were dealer replaced due to "feathering at 20K. The Bridgestones Potenzas appear to be back-ordered from two to four weeks..the 235's are stocked. Firestone, American Tire and two on-line sites gave me the same story of unavailability. The explanation was that due to high demand from Nisson the retail stock is very low. My question is "Has Nisson reached it's 30,000 Z per year production goal" or "has the tire recall/replacement issue depleted Potenza tire production stocks?" I've owned my 350Z since September 19th, 2002 and have found the RE040's dependable in all weather and at speeds over 145mph. Any thoughts on this tire production shortage?

according to Firestone and America Tire, the entire Western US is outta this kinda tire.

you can try your luck on Tirerack.com. but i highly suggest you switch to a different brand because Potenza's thread rating is just absolutely horrible. I would suggest Michelin Pilot XGT Z4, its a little cheaper than Potenza, yet the thread rating is much higher.
