Need pix for calendar
I want to collect a set of 13 great pictures of 350Zs to put into a 2003 calendar that I'll offer for sale here. (I'll post the details in the Classified section later.)
So what I need are your submissions of great photos. The pictures should be:
1. Your property. I won't use pictures without the photographer/copyright holder's permission. So don't submit a nice shot you pulled off the web. They must be pictures you took or otherwise own the rights to.
2. High res. Preferably 3 megapixel (2160x1440 pixels) or better, since they will be printed at 8.4 x 11 inches.
3. Horizontal. I'll consider vertical (I may be able to combine two on a page), but only if they're really great shots.
4. Photographically and artistically excellent. I'll consider Photoshopped "art" as well as straight photos.
By submitting a picture, you are explicitly agreeing to its non-exclusive use in the calendar, and that your only compensation will be a discount on the price of the calendar (if you choose to buy one). Your name and the model of your car will be included in the caption, unless you request otherwise. Please include the date and location of the photo, and any other pertinent information.
If there is a picture posted here that is not yours, but you think should be included, don't e-mail me about it, but e-mail or PM the owner of the pic, and suggest he/she submit it to me. I'll also be checking the gallery out and may PM some members for permission to use their shots.
If you have a non-digital picture you may snail mail it to me (e-mail me for the postal address). If you want the print back, include an SASE and be sure your name is on the back of the print.
I need 13 really good shots, but I'm sure the members of my350Z.com have more than enough to make a really great calendar!
So send those pix to 350Zpix@cinergetics.com today. I hope to have the calendar ready by mid-January.
Thanks.

I don' t mean to flame your idea but thats just lame..
If someone gets selected to contribute to the creation of the calendar they should at least get a free one themselves. A 50% discount isn't realistic.
You're going to be making money of other people's photographic talent, and yet you still charge them $12 for the product that'll cost you cents as far as marginal cost?
The calendar is a good idea, but be fair!

You're mistaken
As I explain on the thread in the classified ads forum, I am NOT making a significant profit on this deal.
The material costs are NOT pennies each. This is not a mass-produced, offset printing job. Go to Kinko's and check out their calendar prices: $25 for one, $20 each for more than one. As I mentioned, I have a deal that gets me a slightly better price than that, so that I will make a modest return on my effort IF I can sell a reasonable number of calendars.
To give the calendars for free to 13 contributors, I would have to sell 40 just to break even, and that's no compensation at all for my effort. I don't expect to be able to sell that many, so I've made what I think is a reasonable offer to contributors. Since contributors are not professional photographers, and weren't intending to sell these pictures, and can still do anything else they want with them, I think a $10 discount is fair.
Of course, it all depends on the volume of sales, so I'll expand my offer to contributors: if I sell more than 100 calendars, I'll refund the $10 you paid for yours.

New thread in classifieds
The original thread with ordering info for the calendars has been deleted, accidentally, I think.
The new one is here: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=14968

Still need pix
Keep those pictures coming in, folks. I've gotten a few contributions, but I don't have enough for the calendar yet.
I'm also trying to reach the owners of some of the galleries. Can anyone help me find out who owns the pictures in the following galleries:
Black Z8 and 350Z
ImportLifeTV
2003z
Thanks.

Need more!!!
Guys! I still need pictures!!! I've only got half the shots I need for the calendar.
I've gotten one decline (my favorite shot of a Lemans Sunset, dammit), a few non-replies, and at least one case of a shot lost to a hard disk crash. (The contributor's, not mine.)
So I still need good shots of a Sunset, a Brickyard, Daytona Blue, and a Pike Peak White. (There are more than enough shots of the CS!)
And Takao, ImportLife, Boricua 350z. and whoever owns the Dallas Auto Show gallery: check your PMs and get in touch with me!
Keep 'em coming!
