Arrow 03' Track on SF Challenges in GM, Suggestions Please...

Hello Z Brothers and Sisters! I need your suggestions as to what I can possibly do to spice up the exterior of my Z a bit. I'm pretty much done with the internal stuff and want to move on to the exterior. One of the things I like about the Z's styling is its 'compact' look. I like the fact that it looks SHORT and FAT and would like to add some simple mods that would accentuate this. I know some bumpers or body kits look 'pointy' and might make the Z look a tad bit longer or 'sleeker' but I don't particularly want to take that route. I want to stay away from anything that looks extreme. I know the pictures are not very good, I took them just as the sun was starting to go down but I would appreciate any feedback/suggestions you could give me. Since the pics were taken, I have added the S2000 'shorty' antenna and the clear side markers. I also plan to have the Volks' lips repolished within the next week or so. Anyhow, what would you guys/gals suggest...? Thanks!

Lip kit, something that makes it look the same lenght, just lower to the ground. Im thinking something along the lines of wald, vertex or ings half kits. Remove your rear wiper, black house your headlights and you should be looking goood.

Thanks! The widths and offsets are 8.5/9.5 and 21/23. Are you thinking of getting those same wheels?

I would smoke out the rear tails, signals, front headlights, and emblems since you have gunmetal wheels. Also, get the smoked front reflectors rather than the clear ones. Take off the rear wiper. A lip kit would look nice and subtle and add some extra flavor.

That is my take on it

I actually just bought them in RMC in the same width/offset (rays metallic coating)

Thing is i went to a Z meet this weekend and everyone said i would regret not having the 10.5 inch rears. I think the 9.5 looks just fine!

Thanks

I have 10.5's

You're right, it's not that much of a huge difference, just a little more lip. Besides the 9.5's are a tad lighter.

Thanks everyone for the replies/suggestions. What's up Rommel, how's it going!? Rommel sold me the wheels. Definitely a cool guy, he even helped me install them in his garage!

Looking good!
Thanks Andy!

Hello Rickdogg, I've considered smoking out the lights/reflectors but haven't yet because my windows are tinted with a 'metallic-type' tint. They're not black so I don't know how that contrast would look. What do you think? B-Unit also suggested I take off the rear wiper so that seems like a good first step.

Congrats on getting the wheels Peter. Like I mentioned above, I bought my set from Rommel so I didn't have much of a choice as far as size goes but I would have probably gone with the same sizes/offsets. I didn't want to hassle with rolling fenders, etc. And they are lighter as 35oZephyR mentioned.

I'm taking all of your guys' suggestions into account and should be out shopping for a front lip and side skirts soon. I have another question though. Hope I don't sound too silly but... Like I mentioned in my original post, I plan on getting the Volks repolished soon. However, with all of the rain coming up I wonder if I should wait until winter is over to do this. I don't know how much rain/mud will affect their shine or whatnot. What do you guys suggest?

I think that it would still look good since tint is dark regardless even if it is quantum tint.

Also, why are you getting the rims repolished?

Based on my previous experience with the rainy season, I'd just wait.

You'll constantly get moisture, salt and all sorts of greasy stuff from the street on your wheel's lips during the winter season. Even if it doesn't rain there is plenty of moisture at night to kick up all sorts of stuff from the ground.

Given the smoky, hazy film constantly coating your wheels, you'll be inclined to wipe then on the fly, leaving micro-scratches on the clearcoat of the wheels.

It's better to get rid of all that when summer comes around and the sun is definitely out to give your wheels the best shine.

Just my opinion.
