Big Catch!
Check out this stalker I reeled in off of Fort Lauderdale Beach in FL.
I'll have it mounted over my fire place in 3 months time.

Is that a scalloped or smooth hammerhead? That is a big one no doubt and I would have loved to have met it underwater
As a scuba diver, meeting lovely creatures like these in the oceans is becoming more and more rare every year. Heck seeing anything of any size these days is getting tough.
Just an FYI: Currently, the smooth hammerhead species is considered to be "Near Threatened" throughout its range with the exception of Australia/New Zealand.

Surfed with a 10-ft hammerhead once, off the Dania Beach Pier. Didn't know why them fishermen were hollerin' at us to get out of the water....hahaha. The waves were too good to pass up....rare we get nice waves during the Halloween swell down here in FL.
Yes! It's a hammer head shark. A smooth one.
It took 1.5 hours to reel it it in.
Since it was so close to shore I decided to make it a trophy, so no one on the near by beaches gets bitten/eaten.
I've sent it off to a Taxidermist. In 3 months I'll have it mounted over my fireplace.
Under normal circumstances I wouldn't be interested in catching it. This expedition was to celebrate my 40th, I decided to keep it to mark the occassion.
