No, it is a Canon branded lense. It is their cheapest prime. Pretty much everyone has one in their kit because it is obscenly sharp and obscenly cheap. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...ughType=search

you can use that on a Digial SLR too? cool. BTW, how come this one the same 50mm but cost 5x more?

it is 1.4, it is also USM. USM is a much superior focusing system to what is in the 1.8.
