Okay...Here's a few more & a couple I played around with just for fun.

Didn't do much to this. Pretty much just the frame & resize. This pic is for you folks who want a nice close-up of these wheels.

Converted everything to B&W except for taillights.

Totally emphasized the blue on the windows so I adjusted the tone. Wanted that BAM effect.

Not much to this one either. Similar to first pic.

Sick pics, guys. Excellent job! I especially like the black/white shot of nitrouz's car in the parking garage.

I was thinking of waiting until next month to order my DSLR but this might have convinced me to put in my order this much sooner. I'm still trying to come to the conclusion which lenses to buy with the camera (I'm almost set on the 350d over the d70s). I'm thinking of just going with the 18-55mm kit lens and the 50mm f1.4 lens to start.

Don't bother with the kit lens. You might as well start with a lens you'll use; after a few months, you'll sell the kit lens. Take a look at the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 as a starter lens. If you're doing automotive photography, the 50mm probably isn't the best choice. You'll want to go wider, which the Tamron will cover. You'll be stopping down the lens most of the time, shoot at f/5.6 or more to get most of the car in focus so a f/2.8 lens should do the job unless you plan on shooting under low light conditions for something else, than the 1.4 might be worth it. I've got a 50mm in my bag but I use it once every 3-4 months not because it's not worth using but I've got 2 other lens I prefer over it.

Sounds good. I've been reading up on the lens review sites to get feedback on which to go with, and most for general photos say the kit lens and the 50mm is good. I'm mostly going to be doing automotive work and event (outdoor) photos. I've actually seen packages with the Tamron lenses so I'll take a look at those. Thanks for the info!

As far as the 350d (XT) vs a 30d, I don't think the price difference is worth the expense for the average person. My major choices were between the Rebel XT, d50 and d70s. The Rebel XT, to me, is the best overall quality and functionality amongst the three.

I'd suggest the 20D. The size and ergonomics, along with a slightly larger viewfinder on the 20D make it worth the few extra hundred bucks over the 350D. I currently own the 20D, 10D and 350D. Since the 20D just arrived, I no longer really need the 10D but I'll probably sell the 350D since the size and settings adjustments are not to my liking. It's okay for some but once you use a 10D/20D/30D, you'll know why the settings adjustments on the 350D are awkward.

As far as lens choices, there are tons out there depending on your budget. Most will start out with something like the Canon 17-40 f/4.0L and a Canon 70-200 f/4.0L but then they'll upgrade to the Canon 16-35 f/2.8L and Canon 70-200 f/2.8L lol. For those on a budget, the Tamron 17-35 f/2.8-4.0, Tamron 17-50 f/2.8, and Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 are possibe substitutes. But, once you start using an L lens, you'll probably get the L bug and keep buying more. The autofocus (USM) on the L bodies cannot be matched by the third party lenses. The sharpness and color is also superior. If you ever upgrade to a 1D series body, the weather sealing on the L lenses (except several of the older L lenses) makes for good outdoor shooting.

Anyway, I'd suggest a 20D with a Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 to start out. Once you start looking at telephoto lenses, post again and we'll put you in the right direction =)

Also, don't forget about accessory items, such as external flashes, filters, camera bags, tripod, tripod heads, battery grips, back up batteries, memory cards, etc. These are just as important as the body and lens.
