That detail is something you don't quite catch on the media photos.
It depends on which publication, though. Some will focus on the small details, usually the larger magazines. Most online sites, though, go for quantity over quality. With the dropping prices of DSLRs, everyone and their mom is now a 'pro' so the photographers that previously pulled in some decent money are being undercut by the new players in town.

hehe. there were a bunch of asian guys with Canon's, most of them using some variant of the 70-200

No, I didn't even try to get press credentials for the event. I only stuck around for ~ 2.5 hours. I've been to hundreds of shows over the years. The last few years, I'm usually in and out within 3 hours // 300 pics. I only stick around longer if I'm covering the event as a paid gig, which I pace myself on the pics throughout the day.

I think you were standing there patiently waiting for me to get out of the way hehe

I use the Canon 16-35 f/2.8L. I'd rather have the 17-55 f/2.8L IS but it's an EF-S lens so it won't work on the 1D & 5D series bodies I was buying the 16-35 in anticipation of upgrading to a 1D MKII, which is arriving this Friday

Anyone need a 10D or a barely used 350D? lol

Now I just need to figure out how to fit both the 1D MKII w/ 70-200 attached and 20D w/ battery grip w/ 16-35 into my camera bag

yeah that was me, but i wasnt waiting for you, just the 3 guys drooling over the rb26.

i'd consider the 10d, but i think i might treat myself to a 30d come xmas. the 16-35L is nice. i rented it for the nyias. i could stand to get a wide angle, but i cant really drop that kinda coin on glass. that is some pretty impressive equipment you have tho. i aspire to shoot your pics one day

Well, for a budget photographer, the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 is a hell of a bargain at ~ $400-450. It's still fairly wide on a 1.6x crop body and has some reach. It's sharp, good saturation, AF is decent (although not as quiet and as fast as the Canon USM system).

I should be at the Englishtown event Sat Sept 30 for the import/tuner show Fall Summer Slam? or whatever it is called. I could let you shoot with one of my cameras and give you a few pointers. I've offered to help some of the local Zers in this area but no one has taken me up on the offer. I have plenty of extra camera equipment, though I'll be selling them off shortly. I can justify keeping 3 bodies, but not 4. Good thing I'm not married haha.

Hey Brock, good speaking to you at Wall. I was the one asking you about your steering angle mods. You were definitely looking good out there for the setup you're running.

That was actually Blake (my partner). Thanks were hoping to develop our steering quickner that was in the race car for the everyday use.
