One Sweet Z!!! 350hp Na...

The day an NA/non-sprayed/non-stroked VQ35 makes 400whp I'll bend over and kiss my own ***.
Anyways, while boost can make a butt load more HP than n/a, there is just a certain awe about a higher HP n/a car that any boosted car can't beat.
That said I believe the VQ35 would be the wrong choice of motor to try and build a high HP n/a car. Try a V8 if you want to get high n/a numbers.
My personal goal is 300WHP n/a. Of course that includes Cams and a great tune.

a giant Oy Gavult to this thread
actually it's at the wheels and it's on a Dynapack, which is what many of the shops in Japan use for space considerations. Esprit's is a bit higher strung yet but MCR holds the record from what I've seen (and it stands to reason they've done the most work)
There are alot of tuners in Japan doing some really neat stuff. I'd love to see how cars there, and cars of a similar level (Richies for example) fare on a typical Dynojet - I think we would see some neat things for sure.
But yes there is no argument, dollar for dollar you get alot more bang for the buck with FI, though it takes some pockets to own such a car as well (as well documented by the owners on this site)
Alot of the appeal for the 300 + whp level is just because it essentially has not be documented to have been done here yet. But if people saw the receipts to do such a setup, they might be very surprised (it costs about as much to properly do FI). It's just that some people don't want FI

300WHP n/a isn't that hard. Rickdogg has 297HP to the wheels the last time I saw and he has nothing but boltons. Crawford Z Car is about there as well. My plans are with cams at the least. The right cams can make a lot more power properly tuned. That plus all bolt ons and a really good tune I don't see why 300WHP is so hard. We'll see.

Other than that, not a single person has provided proof of such an accomplishment, at least on a Dynojet, which I think is what everyone wants to see. Some have claimed to do it, some say that have it but cannot release the info, but as of yet, not a single person has shown a legit sheet proving it. If that in and of itself does not show that it's hard, I don't know what does
Some of the higher NA setups I recall over the years I've been here: MJedens, Rickdogg, BlackTuner, Richie (Oz), Alberto (before he went FI). I know Doug at Crawford is either at or above 300 whp as well.
I think in the next 6-8 months you'll see quite a few more people with some pretty sweet NA setups

My plan is nice heads, huge cams (i love when the car can't idle), lots of $ in top end, top secret itb setup, bump the compression, probably stroke it too, i'm thinking titanium rods, knife edged crank...can anyone make this thing see 8000rpm? I don't know, probably just a nice dream but it would be nice.

I've heard of a 400+ whp 350Z NA around my area... don't ask me how, but still right now it is just here say. I'll make some calls and see who and where they had it done.
