I drove a stock'ish Jetta in college, something even less appealing than this Cougar. His "ugly wheels" are stock, atleast his car is somewhat sporty. I'd rather roll that around college. I'm not a fan of the looks but that is why they have a thousand different kind of body kits.

 

no i wanted to see what u guys thought.....if u dont like it then dont like it....but for a college athlete who doesnt have time for a job i said it would do....if i wanted to go and get a Z right now i could but i dont have the money and im not gona quit college for a car....u guys drive bad azz cars....hopefully one day i will get a Z but right now its not whats in the best interest for me....for those of u who have been in college u all kno how expensive it is.....and im pretty sure i saw a thread on here about how Z's get u laid.....u think i need a Z too.....im in college thats why im on the computer all the time...whats ur excuse

You did ask for people's opinion so I guess that's what you got. Regardless, the main reason you are in college is to get an education and experience something very unique that will hopefully make you into a well rounded individual. Not everybody who goes to college has $30K to blow on a car or have mommy and daddy to back them up financially for 4 years. I am a working business professional who busted my *** to get where I am today. If I really wanted to I could be driving BMWs and Mercedes easily. I settled for a Z because it was a cheaper alternative and in college I really wanted a 300ZX but couldn't afford anything except a used civic. Coming from humble beginnings made me realize that there are better things to put all my money into than a car. I see losers out of high school who work low end hourly jobs just to drive a Z. Instead of preparing for their futures they let a $28k car define their existence and purpose in life. Is it worth it? Well if you like to live life for the moment then I guess that's your choice. Also, IMO, if you really need a pimp car just to get laid in college then you really need to work on your game. College girls are the most forgiving when it comes to understanding that you are poor. It's the gold digging pretentious ones that you meet after you finish school that cares about what kind of car you drive. I might be sounding like a CBS after school special telling you to say in school but it just burns me up when people make fun of others based on materialistic things. Stay in school, work hard, and you'll be able to afford much better than a Z.

 

This (girl)friend of mine in high school had a cougar and I can remember what a huge pile of **** it was. Not only was it hideous, but it was slow, loud and drank gas. Oh well, my first car wasnt that great being a 91 accord, so I guess I cant hate; although I have my Z while working on my business degree and working both full time.

you should have just left the coug stock. basically, do ever do anything if youre going to do it half assed or its going to look worse than it did before you put any work into it.

 

well im not sayin that the car gets me laid.....im thankful for what ive got....my mom and dad did the best they could for me when i was in highschool....i hit all 3 deer within a mile of my house.....plus i was sixteen and the first fast and furious was out and that was the cool thing to do.....is it slow....well its a 185 hp cougar....its not a v8 and it doesnt go 150 mph.....but it gets me from point a to b and thats all i need......i play college baseball and for those of u who played in college between studies and practice there is really no time for a job....just sleep.....thanks for all the opinions good/and bad.....i dont think less of anyone here.....i love this site and im gonna keep lovin it.....one day im gonna have a 350z and im gonna be on here even more then.....thanks everybody

 

I understand why you have it, I am in college and drive a saturn SC2 5MT- its small, light, peppy, and ugly as hell, but I dont care, its a pretty fun car to drive and when I graduate I can get something nicer

my choice would have been something far different than a cougar but to each his own I guess, but I do sympathize with your situation as I am in it myself

dont let these haters get to you. many college students don't even have a car. cool ride, may not be some people's tastes but so what? i think it's cool.

 

 

Actually it's not that hard. I am assuming Pokey lives out in the country. The term deer in a headlight is so true. They will jump out of nowhere and freeze in the middle of the road. Some of them have gotten so use to humans that you can honk and high beam them and they still won't move.

 

Not bad for in school with no job commitment to hold you back, good thing you still have time for azz.
