I am being led to think that it's because these Teams who compete for trophies as Best in Show do not really want to disclose the extensive modifications that they have done to other Show competitors and visitors who will just photograph and copy their originality then show up at the next car event.
There is only so much distance and illumination that camera flashes can travel and reach.
And also maybe to hide imperfections on the cars. It's a Car Dealer's technique - maybe.

Humility transcends all boundaries. It lasts longer than shame and gets more respect and dignity from fellow human beings.
In this forum there's a lot of cocky ****-suckers who thinks that just becaus e they have a twin-turbo Z they think they can trash talk and put down everybody. I'd like to pay them a visit one day and challenge them to a race for pinks. It will be a real race - not a bull-**** drag race that only tests the cars itself but tests the drivers as well. It will have sweeping corners and off-camber turns with 1st gear U-turns where you would have no choice but to drift around them. Twin-turbos are useless in these scenarios.
Everybody can go straight - even your GrandMother - but it's a different story when the road turns. It's in the corners that you shine!
All these cocky owners - most are in the military by the way - will have to learn to really drive their cars and not just for show bull****.
My moto: If you can't Drift it - you don't deserve to brag about it! Period.
Sorry I thought I lost it there for a minute.
(...calming down...Aahhhhhh....)
Here is another Z that I picked up. This was owned by a Military guy stationed in Las Vegas, NV. probably Nellis AFB.
From the damage you can tell that the car heavily understeered going into a right-hand corner. This driver lost control and plowed thru a corner - stupid!
It's all about the physics of weight-transfer. Obviously his front-end is pre-loaded and was not able to dissipate the weight and pass it on to the rear wheels. And he has LSD but it didn't even save him - poor bastard - oh well!
Here are pics of his sorry-*** Z. Enjoy!......

you should come out to one of our local meets in Milpitas on Friday nights. I'll be bringing my car this Friday...one of the countries most powerful street Z's. It'll be fun.

details here: https://my350z.com/forum/northern-california/232090-south-bay-gtg-friday.html

I really couldn't tell you but will guess that it is custom fabricated to accomodate the "other wide" modifications that they are doing.
Best bet is to call them/the builders at:
http://www.highendperformance.net/forums/
They had several wide cars there like the Supra, RX-8 and S2000.
Thanks.

Thank you Sir for the invite - I will - but I do not have a Z yet to take there.
I would have to arrive incognito until my Z is complete.
Your 420zTT sounds devastating...any pics?
