Meh, I have one in mine. It's padded in all of the appropriate places, but it will be seeing the track later this season, and next year will be a dedicated track car later in the year.

Problem i have with roll cage in a street car, and many will agree (i hope) is that even with paddings, you still need helmets, and a HAND device. All this, with a 4 or 5point harness, restrict your visibility and making safe lane chances impossible.

Street car should NEVER have harness or roll cage. Its just not safe.

The 'tow hook' you're referring to is a tsurikawa.
Yes the cage will receive some padding.
I could give two fcks about NASA/SCCA spec. Here's an awesome photo for you, for the next time you wanna bash someone's Cusco cage.

I think your calling the pot calling the kettle black... Your response was the typical my350z response and Why we as a community are getting so much flack and fanboi comments flying our way.

He is just looking for the safety of other members. I would just step back and look in the mirror before handing out comments on how the typical my350z response is. There is facebook for that.

What is a HAND device. . .?

Here's your track and helmet photo so you all can sleep better at night.

Hans device. Typing sucks when you do it on the phone.

So which is it? Full track star or weekend warrior? Because if it gets driven on the streets AT ALL, its stupid to have a cage.

I don't think I can get on board with the "stupid to have a cage in a street car" concept. You mean to tell me it's acceptable to have a cage on the track where you might flip or slam into a wall but it's a ridiculous notion to have one on the streets where little Miss "thistextismoreimportant" or Mr. "onemorebeerwontkillanyone" can slam into you at any given moment? IMO, the more protection the better.

Don't get me wrong, I understand some people get a Cusco cage because it's cool looking and have nothing better to spend their money on...but, it's not a ***** shift **** either.

A cage by itself is dangerous, you cant denie that.

A helmet on the street in dangerous, you cant denie that.

Harness on the street is dangerous you cant denie that.

You shouldnt have a cage without helmet and harness, along with pading and hans device, you cant denie that.

Hitting your head on padding which has been SFI approved is not going to be any more harmful than hitting it on the plastics which would normally be there.

I don't wear a helmet on the streets (therefore no HANS on the street either), and I don't wear my harnesses on the street either.

I wear my OEM 3-point on the street and the cage is padded.

Track? HANS, Helmet, Harnesses, etc.

I disagree that having one on the street/in a streetcar is idiotic. I think if the necessary precautions are taken, you're fine. If not, it is dangerous and idiotic, sure.

I have no visibility issues, and I'm sure that I would be fine if anything were to occur.

a cusco blue cage is pure trash and will probably more likely kill you than protect you in a roll over or other serious crash. It is only safe in a show car that gets towed to the show and home.

I wanted to know what the interwebs would say so I searched "no seatbelt accident" then clicked images. It wasn't pretty, Brian.
